RESA Convenes Its 4th Retail Energy Markets Symposium In Harrisburg

Harrisburg, PA — The leading issues affecting retail energy competition nationally will be explored Oct. 1 at the Retail Energy Supply Association’s 2015 Energy Competition Symposium in Harrisburg. Among the key issues to be discussed at the half-day event are the evolution of competitive retail energy markets and the intersection of retail energy competition with power grid transformation.

“The electric industry is on the cusp of a dramatic change in how energy is generated and consumed, and this presents profound implications for retail suppliers of electricity and natural gas as well as consumers. This symposium brings together diverse suppliers, regulators, legal experts and industry executives to discuss how best to enhance innovation and the customer experience,” RESA President Brenda Crockett observed.

The symposium will feature a keynote address by John Hanger, Secretary of Planning & Policy in the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office.

Other distinguished speakers include Eric Lightner, director of the Department of Energy’s Smart Grid Task Force; Pamela Witmer, commissioner with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission; Gary Fromer, senior vice president at Constellation; Tami Wilson, chief finance & risk officer at IGS Energy; Dan Clearfield of Eckert Seamans; and Karen Moury with Buchanan Ingersoll and Rooney.

The afternoon-long event will close with a reception.
